Orange & Orange, Attorneys at Paw started out as a joke
between writer Tracy Horenbein and her husband Chan. Their two orange tabbies
were always together, and were often referred to as "Orange and Orange." The "Attorneys at Paw" just seemed like a natural addition.
Several years ago Horenbein was prompted by friends and
family to join Myspace. A lifelong musician, Horenbein began using the social
network to promote her music and band. While on Myspace, she discovered that
some people had profiles for their pets. After realizing the fun people were
having sharing photos and stories about their furry family members, Horenbein decided to introduce the online community to Phred and Louis. Orange & Orange,
Attorneys at Paw was open for business.
Needless to say, the Orange & Orange profile became
pretty popular. Within a short period of time Phred and Louis had thousands of
friends and fans worldwide. However, that wasn't the only surprise. Horenbein
quickly realized that the numerous animal lovers online were more than just
people who enjoyed sharing jokes and pictures. The community was also a caring
network of people who helped each other get animals adopted, raise money, share
prayers, and increase awareness.
After enthusiastic suggestions from friends and family, Horenbein
decided to take advantage of the following Orange & Orange had developed. She
wrote a children's book, which is designed to be the first in a series of
adventures featuring Phred and Louis. The story also features a few of the
friends that Phred and Louis made during their epic online adventures.
When they are not hosting legendary catnip parties online,
the real Phred and Louis reside at a peaceful country home in Tallahassee,
Florida. Phred is 16 years old, and Louis is 4. They live with several other
felines, a few barkers, and two humans.
